Osteopath near Brunssum

Looking for an osteopath in the Brunssum area? You’re welcome at my practice. I treat adults, babies and children, and take the time to clearly explain your complaint and treatment plan.

What does an osteopath do?

Osteopathy is a manual (hands-on) therapy focused on finding and treating the underlying cause of a complaint, not just the spot where you feel pain. Osteopaths work with their hands on joints, muscles, connective tissue and organs, based on the idea that the body functions as one interconnected system — so a problem in one area can affect how you feel or move elsewhere.

Common reasons people visit

People come to my practice with a wide range of complaints: back, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, digestive issues, and recovery after an injury.

I’m also trained in osteopathy for babies and children, and I’m happy to help with longstanding complaints that haven’t been fully explained elsewhere.

How does an appointment work?

A first appointment starts with a thorough conversation. We take the time to go through your complaint, medical history, work, sport, daily activities and any previous treatment. This is followed by a physical examination, in which I look at the mobility of different structures in the body and how they relate to one another. It’s not just the location of the complaint that matters, but how the body functions as a whole.

After the examination, I discuss my findings with you. It’s important to me that you understand what I see, what factors may be involved, and which next steps make sense. That could be treatment, but also advice, or a referral to another healthcare provider if that’s a better fit.

My approach

No two people are the same, so every complaint gets an individual assessment. I take time to understand what’s going on, examine which factors may be involved, and then decide together on the right approach, rather than jumping straight to treatment.

How I look at the body

The body is a connected whole, in which muscles, joints, organs and the nervous system all work together. A complaint in one place can have its origin somewhere else entirely. That’s why I always look at the bigger picture — not just the spot where you feel pain.

My background

I studied Physiotherapy at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Heerlen (graduated 2018), then trained in Osteopathy at the International Academy of Osteopathy in Antwerp, earning my Master of Science in Osteopathy in 2023. I’m currently completing additional training in osteopathy for babies and children.

Practice locations near Brunssum

I treat patients at three locations in the region, all a short drive from Brunssum: Hoensbroek, Beek and Geleen.

A first consultation takes 60 minutes and costs €95 for adults (€80 for babies and children, 40 minutes); a follow-up consultation takes 40 minutes and costs €80 for adults (€60 for babies and children, 30 minutes). No GP referral is needed. Many Dutch supplementary health insurance plans (aanvullende verzekering) partially reimburse osteopathy — if you’re new to the Dutch healthcare system, I’d recommend checking directly with your insurer what’s covered.

You can reach me by WhatsApp, phone or email. I’ll get back to you to schedule a first appointment.
